Seen this film 4 times. And then, they released a black and white version. A total different experience.

Cant wait for the inevitable American remake with an A-list cast and a 20% on RT, in 5 years. Watching the review so I can watch it since it got oscar's approval. Is there a dub? I don't watch subs. This movie made me forget I was watching with subtitles. I am a fan of Korean movies. Most Korean movies are good. This one is not an exception as to story line and actors. Comparing with the great hits like Along with the God and Train to Busan, this one is less active. What surprised me is that this mediocre get more rating than those great films. Actually, the whole movie is done in a house. I don't know why a lot of people overrate this movie.

Both SHOPLIFTERS and PARASITE hinge around the underclass, but a more apposite reference of the latter should be Lee Chang-dong's BURNING (2018) a Cannes also-ran, both Lee and Bong vigorously tackle the ubiquitous classism, the pathological canker in our modern society, while Lee deliberately and stylishly veils his central story with elusiveness and makes great play of the ambivalent mystique exuded from the unattainable pursuance of truth, here, Bong cunningly employs gripping genre tropes to underpin his trenchant perspicacity on the treacherous waters of rich and poor's co-existence.
In Seoul, the semi-basement dwelling Kim family - patriarch Ki-taek (Song) his wife Chung-sook (Jang) their two adolescent children, son Ki-woo (Choi) and daughter Ki-jung (Park So-dam) slyly insinuates their way into being employed by the high-flying Park family, respectively, as their driver, housekeeper, English tutor and art teacher. This movie have any sad scene. I watched this without knowing anything other than hearing it was the best foreign film. I didnt read what it was about and I didnt see the trailer. It was CRAZY and Im trying to get everyone I know to watch it so I can talk about it more. 11/10. This was hands down the best movie Ive ever watched in my life. Every single second it gets better and weirder.

First ever subtitle movie I've ever been able to watch and not be distracted by following the words all the way through. Brilliant suspense thriller with comedic reality as a result of an excellent screenplay and concept. hands down deserved these Oscar wins and best movie I've seen in a long time, beyond this year even! Congrats South Korea. The actress playing the rich wife/mother is underrated. She had to play someone who is still likable even though you're also gonna hate her. Edit: I guess some people didn't pick up her snobby side. There wasn't suppose to be an obvious villain in the character- each had bad and good side. The rich wife/mother did things like put her feet near the face of poor father/husband when he was driving which is really disrespectful in Asian culture. She threw in English to show off her education/class. She treated drug addiction like a sex kink.

This scene is why I was wanting Parasite to win Best Editing. Is anyone else bothered by the college age students vying for the high school. I guess having a plan can work out after all sometimes. WE DON'T WANT THE AMERICAN REMAKE. Bong Joon Ho underlining the word “pretend” saying that its a crucial word reminded me when dahye (rich daughter) said that her brother is pretending to be an artist and then jiwoo (poor boy) tells her to write in English using the word “pretend” twice. And by that time, only 2 of the family members were “pretending” to be someone theyre not.

I want them to break down the whole movie HAHAHA i am so curious of all the details the director have added. It's mind-blowing how no one would've ended up dying if the dad, son and daughter didn't trip into the secret bunker. Imagine being mad at people for speaking their language.

I've never seen a movie like Parasite. It's like walking into a room not knowing what's inside only to be shocked and amused at the same time by what you see in every nook and cranny. #thisiscinema, My #1 movie of 2019 followed by 1917 and Joker. That's because of her husband that she steals extra food for. When he said the movie makes him want to write and direct movies I-👏👏👏👏.
